Just a quick question to all you resourceful people...
my girlfriend is with me for the summer, and she is an American...... (shhh)
Customs and immigration look away now...
She is looking to make some extra money this summer, but of course, being in Canada, this is a little more difficult than usual...
Does anybody have any ideas as far as things someone without the ability to be employed in Canada can do for money?
Any option is a good one... really. It doesn't have to be an actual job, just a step or two up from delivering papers or picking up pop cans. In fact even flyering for money would probably work...
The other thing that would actually be perfect is child care, but it is tough to find the right fit with places like craigslist and such...
Any idears?
Anybody need an assistant for the summer?
Thanks again...
Adam.

Re: A little help?
Maybe you can marry her This way she'll become a Canadienne...
But if that is not an option, try something where she can get paid in cash. Construction? Tutor? Guide of some sort? Busking?
Good luck...

standing in medians with a sign seems to net tons of cash, begging in general makes more than most realize (no I have not tried it my self but been tempted :))

Re: A little help?
Well, house-cleaning for cash is always an option. There are some that also offer this service through Craig's List; I do use some help in this area on occasion. And, hey, if she is willing to do a combo - clean the house AND the Delica... I am in...

Re: A little help?
even if you marry her that won't help for the summer. immigrations is really understaffed and slow, maybe just slow? my wife and i have been waiting over six months. when we called in may 2009 for an update they said they were only just processing november 2008. so. do they have rickshaws where you life? running rickshaws can be a good source of income...
