Camping with kids

Hey guys

I know there is a number of avid campers on the site, so perhaps there are some suggestions.

I'd like to take my girls camping, would like to explore some FSRs, but nothing too hard core.
Can't afford to get stuck somewhere in the middle of nowhere with 2 little ones (5 and 7).

What I'm looking for in a perfect world: around 2-4hrs total travel time from Pitt Meadows, some dirt road/ light off road, a lake would be nice ...:)
that's about it.
No official camp ground required, no facilities whatsoever required.

What do you recommend?

thanks.

Does that site list any "unofficial" sites? the kind Deli community accesses via FSR, or just official ones? Seems like it's mostly designated camp grounds.

I'm in the same boat, jester. Looking for good close-ish place to camp with my 6 year old daughter. I'm going to try Jones lake next month. I've heard good things about it. Have you been? Anyone else have something to say about Jones?

No. Never been to Jones lake.

I am going to give Kenyon Lake a shot.
Looks like about 35kms of FSR.

If somebody has driven that way this year, please let me know how the FSR is over there.
They say "4x4 only" but in my experience with FSRs, that is usually a case only in rough weather, when the rain softens the road.

Though Jones lake also looks attractive.

Could be a good spot! will have to check it out some time during the summer.

Harrison lake. Lots of spots on both sides of the lake. Also try the Flood Hope road.
