Offered an FJ80 for my van...

Post by macro »

Ok, so, I've been offered a trade for my L400. I don't know what to do!! The only drawback I can see to the FJ is the milage. I drive a LOT for work. All over the place, sometimes 100km or more a day. I only have one vehicle and the Delica serves my purposes pretty well. However, I would LOVE to be able to go into any store and be able to buy parts. Or be able to order something aftermarket that wasn't made in someones shed or have to pay exorbitant amounts for shipping. Here is the LC - http://www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks/city ... /585318532

Please weigh in with your opinions!!

Also, having a new project would be kinda fun as well.

For one, I'd like to point out that he is willing to give you his Toyota for your Delica. That says to me that he would rather have your Delica than his own Toyota... Kinda speaks for itself, do the math.

After looking into the milage, I'm not going to do it. I didn't realize what pigs those things are. One day I'd love a diesel Cruiser I think, but today is not that day.

L400 gets pretty good mileage for its size and capability. If you are driving 100+ km a day then bank the estimated saving of driving the L400 vs FJ80 and pretty soon you will have a nice chunk of change to put towards an HDJ81 :)

any trips to Africa planed in the near future? go for the LC!!!

if you are going to offroad hard LC if not Delica is nice ride...

(Delica will be worth less than the LC in the future.... but in Ontario it makes no difference as both will rust away)
