Cheapest Place to buy Injectors???

Post by Superbird »

If I can't get mine cleaned and rebuilt locally.... maybe cheaper to buy new ones?? I've looked on ebay but hard to determine which is correct fit but seems cheapest was $250 for set 4 with free shipping. Also what about glow plugs? Thanks for your input! -Sb

Nothing special about these injectors. Last time I had injectors rebuilt it was 50 bucks per new nozzle plus labour, but the real concern is quality: are they name brand or Chinese cheap stuff? You can also just buy the nozzles and install them yourself on the injectors, very easy job.

go to CCA in coombs and get it done right.

And that is set by the spring, but when you connect it to the injection pump you can check the spray pattern before installing them. The guy who did mine said that injectors should be service regularly - every 500 hours of use - but it's just usually the nozzles that need replacing.

Hello, What is the difference between the cheap ones ($250 free shipping set on ebay) or the ones $125 each locally?

If I want to rebuild where do I buy the nozzles from?

Thank you for the feedback - Sb

Million dollar question.
Buy from reputable dealer. Word of mouth feedback and experiences help too.
I've had good luck so far. Just make sure you do your homework and buy the right part number on eBay.

I wouldn't pay 125 each locally; that sounds like full injector price. The advantage with locally is you should be getting a decent part most of the time. The key is brand. If they are supplying Chinese-made or Brazilian-made injectors the quality is suspect. If they're Bosche, they're not.
If the ebay ones are European made or japan made then you've likely got a good deal, but it's always a crap shoot. I replaced my head from one I bought from the UK (almost certainly of Chinese origin, tho) very inexpensively as an experiment, plus the fact that locally-available expensive ones were likely also Chinese made, and so far so good. But it's always a tradeoff and you never know what you're gonna get.

Why don't you post the link of the ebay injectors so we can see what you are thinking of?

These were the cheapest ones I found with a seller with good feedback. Any suggestions on just the nozzle set?

Well, those are made in France, which is better than China one supposes. But you are really supposed to get even brand new injectors at least pop tested before installing them to make sure they open at the correct setting for your vehicle. That can be as low as 25 bucks each around here. Or you just drop them in and hope for the best.

I had good luck with diesel-injectors out of the uk. I'll be getting my next set from him as well.
