Meager Creek Hotsprings (closed) and in the area

Post by FlyingBarney »

A week or so ago, I went there with two other friends, based on a recommendation in this forum (thank you: http://www.delica.ca/forum/meager-creek ... -5651.html).

Meager Creek Hotsprings are closed, and the signs say it from the beginning of the road, just after Pemberton. Still, we didn't believe it and continued in. Luckily, because while the hotsprings are indeed closed (the last bridge is being constantly washed off, and big repairs are going on), we were able to find other ones. Thank you Backroad Mapbook.

We camped in the Upper Lilloet rec site, which was completely empty the whole time, and we had it to ourselves. Saw bears along the way, on the FSR road - a mother with a cub, and another one later.

From the campsite, we continued along the FSR road, until about km 46. Passing through running water across the road (pics below), and coming to a little parking-like area on the left. No signs really. Keyhole Falls and a Hotspring. A fairly steep hike down towards the river, of about 20 minutes. Then, right beside a river, a beautiful place to sit in hot water and listen to the river gushing down.

A nice getaway from Vancouver for a few days.

Simon

Holy crap that creek crossing is huge compared the last time I saw it.
Shitty to hear about the development proposals.
