Hi,
About a month ago I purchased a 1996 L400 turbo diesel. I think it has been in Canada since 2013.
This morning I had a 2.5 inch exhaust installed from flex pipe back with a Dynomax Ultra Flo muffler - drives much better now, lots more power. I will have to get used to not accelerating so hard, before I know it i'm doing 80 in back streets.
This afternoon I removed the intercooler, adjusted the TPS from 1.1v down to 0.85v and installed a boost gauge.
While doing this work I found a wire floating around near the glow plugs. I have searched the forums and had a look at some engine photos but cannot figure out where it is meant to attach. I have included a photo below and hope someone can give me advice on what to do with it.
The boost gauge I installed seems kind of tacky - it is an iEquus Performance 8257. Goes up to 30PSI. Driving around the max boost I see is 9PSI, even if I floor it to 3K RPM up a hill. Does anyone know how accurate these gauges are likely to be?

That's off your oil pressure sensor, which is on the front of your motor, right where your hand is. If you ground it with the car running, your oil light will come on.
If the van feels at all fast, it's likely making more than 9 psi of boost. Your gauge is likely off by a few psi

My analog Autometer boost gauge shows 13 psi max when I floor it.
Hovers around 9psi when I cruise.
Where is your glowplug power lead? These are usually attached the first glow plug on the bus bar. I see some rubber boot on a wire...is that your power lead for the GP? Thats not factory.
The plug you're holding...Feds could be right. Oil Pressure Sensor is a likely canidate....but why is there a Splice Block on it? Those things just ruin wires. Horrible invention especially when they get wet.

Ahh, ill have a look for the oil pressure sensor and also replace the splice with a butt connector - got no idea why the splice is there.
The cable with a rubber boot is the glow plug bus bar power cable, it is connected and the glow plugs seem to work. We will see about that come winter though.
When I turn the engine off a buzzer sounds 5 times in quick succession. Is this normal Delica behaviour or is it an alarm of some kind - maybe detecting the oil pressure sensor isn't connected?

How does the dynomax sound? I'm looking to do a side dump right in front of the rear wheel

The Dynomax muffler was about $200 and the whole exhaust install with tax was $600.
The exhaust sounds pretty good to me, not much louder at all then the stock setup. My stock exhaust looked to be in pretty good shape, except for splits in the tail pipe after the muffler.

600 for a full stainless? Out the rear? I'm going to do a side dump in front of the back wheel, will save on bends

Not stainless, just your regular steel 2.5inch exhaust from flex pipe all the way to the back bumper. The tip is angled slightly down and to the side.
The muffler has a lifetime warranty and the rest of the exhaust has a 1 yr warranty.
Another shop qouted the same price for the job, so I guess I got a fair enough deal.
