I bought 2 Motomaster Eliminators group 24 at CT for 283.24 with the trade in. The product code is 01024868. They work great in this F-ing cold.

Get the biggest cold cranking amp (CCA) you can. I think mine are 800CCA. Especially in this wonder -50 weather(with the wind), Do you have 2 batteries in your deli? I found it was a little shuddery this morning at start up even after being plugged in.

I just replaced batteries in my 1994 L400 Super Exceed this past weekend. Mine is a 2-battery (winter package) system, and the batteries that I installed are the Best Buy BB24 obtained from Vancouver Auto Parts (VAP) in Richmond, BC.

Replacement ended up being a bit of a hassle, because the first set of BB24s that I picked up from VAP were mislabelled - they were actually BB24-F's meaning that the +'ve and -'ve terminals were reversed. When I returned to the store to exchange, the staff discovered that their entire batch had been mislabelled except for one unit (and I needed two).

Moral of story... When purchasing batteries, remember to visually confirm that +'ve and -'ve are in correct position (labels can be wrong) :-o

Thank you for the replies. I only have one battery. I would like to have two. It doesn't look like there is lot of room in there. There must be some conversion done to fit it in? So the single battery would be a group 24?

The 1997 Spacegear Manual at page 34 recommends battery dimensions of 300mm (length), 174mm (width), and 220mm (height).

Those dimensions are reasonably close (but not exactly the same as) a Group 24 battery which would be 260mm (length), 173mm (width), and 225mm (height) - see http://www.evdl.org/pages/bcigroup.html)

I know first-hand that Group 24's will fit in the case of dual-battery 1994 L400. However, before buying it would be reassuring to get confirmation from an owner of a single-battery L400.

I have heard from a number of automotive battery pro's that one big battery can not match two small one's. I got my at Walmart, 3yr replacement warrenty. The van is gone right now so I can't confirm the size but I do recall that I ended up with slightly shorter batteries (height) than the stock one's. Both where 800CC. They have been working well for me here in Winterpeg.
