hey guys,
I just picked up my L400 with the 2.4L yesterday and i have a couple questions/problems:
- is the 2.4L oil filter the same as the Dodge Ram 50?
- the van has a rough idle and occasionally dies when i come to a stop. any suggestions?
- pretty sure it needs some new brake pads.. part#?
- rad overflow line was just glued on and came off when i drove it home from the rail yard. am i better off the get a new rad or just try and fix it?
- overdrive off light is on. when i press and hold the button it goes away. but it seems the button wont stay engaged.
that's all for now thanks in advance!

Re: 2.4L Help/ Questions
I have an L300 with the 2.4, and yes, the filter is the same as a ram 50.
As for the other stuff, you might want to put in fresh plugs and check out the air filter. There could be other issues but that requires someone with experience tuning it up I think. Too difficult to do over the net.
Brake pad # are available in download section. Be careful, there are a lot of different # in there, so do your homework.
you may be able to fix the overflow by threading in a brass overflow tube (I can't see it so I'm guessing it could be possible)
As for the switch, it sounds like your relay or switch is not quite working. On the L300 it is all in the box below the lever, but I've never seen the 400 setup. Try working the switch numerous times, even lubricating it a bit.
Hope this helps.
