Long time no see everyone. I tired the search but nothing (not that that means much with this search engine lol) on what needs to be done with the wiring under the drivers seat to wire up a regular replacement stereo in my L400 royal exceed.
Thanks

Re: royal exceed stereo replacement
Thankfully my royal came with a fully replaced stereo system. Was clearly a ton of work, very happy I dont have to do it. It was done by an audio place in Courtenay, Pure Audio. Been there since, would reccomend them if your nearby. I believe the whole karokee system had to be ripped out and all the wiring replaced. Though I still have a 6 disc cd changer under the passenger seat that doesnt seem to be hooked up.

Re: royal exceed stereo replacement
I've done it, downgrading my royal fully to exceed spec. I'll see if I can find the link. Most of the work is straightforward, though I believe all of the speaker wires are orange, so you might be further ahead to run new speaker wire.
*EDIT* Found my original thread. Lots of good info in the links, especially the google translate one.

My van had an aftermarket stereo wired in parallel with the factory head unit. I ended up removing the touch screen, replacing it with the digital unit, and putting a double-din nav unit in. Everything is more-or-less plug and play (with the exception of the speaker wires, which had previously been spliced into an aftermarket stereo harness), though my rear defroster is not working at the moment.

Re: royal exceed stereo replacement
I did something a bit different and coverted my Exceed system to a Bose Nissan double din unit. Looks stock. Just need to get the blue-tooth converter wired for the AUX input so tablets/phones can hookup to it.
Really cool hack on google for this.
Lots of plugs and custom wiring. I think I have the full stereo wiring schematic in english for all L400 systems. It was converted from Russian but I don't think Russia had the kareoke system! (not sure why that would be popular...when my kids sing it makes dogs yelp!)
