Delica Parts and Supplies

Post by The Pinkfingers »

Hi - I've noticed on a few threads that when looking for Delica parts and supplies, although "Delica" parts may be hard to come by, there are many others that can be used in their place. For example:

Power steering fluid from 1990-95 Toyota for Delica fluid
Brakes from ___?___ (can't remember) for Delica brakes.

Is there actually a list somewhere that lists what substitute parts can be used? Or a list of what parts are available in Canada?

When I told my sister we were getting a Delica, she said her friend in Tofino just sold his because he took it in for minor repairs, and it was going to be two months for the part to come. Is that normal, or did the mechanic not know what could be substituted?

Thanks.

Oops  I see I posted this in the wrong section. Sorry. Rather than create a double thread I'll just leave it for a mod to move.

Your sister's friend probably didn't participate on this forum 'cause parts are quite easily available. When I received mine from Japan I did a complete servicing and by that I mean replacing all belts, fluids, seals, bushings... so that my next major service will be in a 100 000km. Every parts were readily available.

You can look on the Wiki for parts number and parts from other vehicle that fit on the Delica:
http://wikrad.com/delica/index.cgi

Or there's a number of people on this site that specialize in parts, MardyDelica comes to mind as well as a number of other great guys ready to help out along with most of the specialized shops (Japanoid, CCautos...) depending where you live.

So all in all, these are great vehicles and I don't expect you to be waiting for months for a specific part, especially if you visit this site regularly.

All the best,

Delica parts are about as easy to get now as chevy parts, if your parts person doesent know what to get, then try one of the parts suppliers, there is no shortage of delica parts now.
