Having trouble finding an idler arm

Post by lkelly »

Hi folks

I have a 1998 L300 truck . The idler arm is shot and I can't find the part on any online stores, they all seem to be out of stock, or not in production.

Would anyone know if there is a way to determine if there is an alternative part that could work from a different model/year. I've read here that some Toyota and Pajero parts might be swappable. Alternately, anyone know of any mechanics in the lower mainland of Vancouver that could rebuild the part?

Vehicle details:
Model Number: KC-P25T YHNJT 1
Chassis Number: P25-0030321
Engine: 4D56

The OEM part number is MR162708:

Any luck finding them? My friend might need the idler arm for his new L300 project. Got to finish installing the suspension and xd wheels on the Silverado before start working on the van.

Try this link, I have not used them before but they seem to have the part going by the site.
