Front Sway bar links

Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

Front Sway bar links

Post by STL »

Hi all,

While doing the front shocks (replaced my OME that I could not find anymore by Kony Heavy-Track), I thought I'll do my sway bar link at the same time, bushings were near the end. The L300 is on jacks on one side (without wheel) and I struggle a bit aligning the low arm and the sway bar holes to get enough thread. Is there a special technique to do it nicely?

Thanks!

PS: Meanwhile I have a new toy in my backyards

Hi all, I found an easy solution myself without putting back the wheel on. I used a second lift to push the lower arm up so that I could have some thread to get the link done. Fairly easy after all (putting it out was another story ... I had to use a metal saw).

I still have to tie all this clean and finish some protection painting and I'll do the other side. If I am lucky all this will be done by the week-end (may depend on temperature as the product I use for protection needs 15°C minimum).

By the way, the shocks are KONI Heavy-Track ref 30-1318 and they fit well. I still have to test how they ride.

Ok, I am now all set. Did a bit of painting to protect all this from rust and I could do a test ride. It is a little firmer and I like it very much. These shocks are a very good option without lift (200 euros in Europe for a pair).
