so I have been looking at the donkey express when my wrist isn't killing me too badly and I have noticed that my turbo is COATED in oil....looking back through my vast knowledge in building homes (new to engines) the only thing I can come up with is, turbo's f#ckered and probably might explain a few other things with the poor performance. it looks like the previous owner neglected a lot of minor things as far as maintenance goes, so I am doing what I can when I can and my wallet allows for it. I have already done oil change, new air filter, fuel filter, tires and speakers. plan on installing new turbo, adding propane injection, roof basket, snorkel, getting rid of side dump( f#cking annoying as hell on hiway and don't recommend it!!) with muffler and rear exit exhaust and patching up small holes and insulating the van. any ideas, comments (for the most part), suggestions etc much appreciated.

Re: greasy turbo??
Hey
Sorry I don't really have an answer but I have the same issue. If you get some feedback can you send it along and I will do the same?
Question though, if you get your van up to highway speed do you hear any "turbo whine" like the turbo is actually working?
Please keep in touch

Re: greasy turbo??
Hey Punkrawker
Found that who ever had played around with my Turbo last (I've only owned the van for less than a year) undid some clamps etc, I tightened everything up and seem to be seeing it come alive. Still have haven't figured out the oil issue but plan on cleaning it up and keeping an eye on it to see if I can find where its coming from. I'll keep posting if I find something
