uh oh… starter? fuse? help?

any ideas why this is happening?
the battery is fine, the glow plugs click as they should… starter?
there have been a few times where it's done this and then fired up fine on the second try, but now nothing at all.
any help would be appreciated, you all are awesome.

I've cleaned the battery terminals, tried jumping it off a running car… no change. i don't want to have it towed to a mechanic just to find out it was something silly and common/easy to fix.

Check your connection to the starter. Hit it with a hammer. I believe there was a thread not that long ago that had the same symptoms. I think it was the fuse /wire off the battery.

Check the fusable link wire , when you open the battery compartment, looking towards the back of the compartment (back of vehicle), the fuesable link is on the rear left . the fuseable link wire is about four inches long with white plastic connectors, check the connectors they tend to burn out.

My starter was intermittently not working a while back....
The culprit was dirt and oil cramed in a loose spade connector on the starter.Single control wire to the solonoid.Cleaned it and crimped the connector a bit and problem went away.....

+1 for this, I had some melt happening on these connectors, the melted plastic on the contact surfaces created too much resistance in the circuit and I had a no start scenario identical to yours.

I removed the connectors used a screw driver to scratch the plastic off the contacts, reconnected and she fired up as usual. Going to replace the connectors as soon as I get a chance.
