1990 Pajero 2.5 litre turbo diesel

Post by Timber »

Hello all, this is my first post.

I've been trying to diagnose a problem with my Pajero for a while. Right now, I want to perform a compression test and also a leak down test. I tried making an adapter for use with an old injector, but, I've found out that that doesn't work because of the way the injector is made.

Any thoughts? Does anyone know what sort of adapter I could use and where to get one?

Thanks

Tim

Check out brass fittings and hydraulic fittings. There should be something compatible with the thread pitch of the injectors. If you have a spare injector you can use it to test/measure the threads on available fittings.

You might get lucky and Part Source could have a compression test kit in their loan-a-tool program....the kit should have something compatible that can be connected to an air supply so a proper leak test can be performed.

Make sure you disconnect the fuel supply relay so the engine doesn't try and start while you get TDC in position.
