There are lots of sites in the area - even further down the highway and into the bush. Hope all goes well. I can't make it but would love to have been there. I'm off researching sites on highway 24. ( All are free )

Well the first Exploration trip was interesting...
Me and Almac proceeded up Towards little white to find a route to McCulloch,we were having a great time until we hit Belvue Tressle on the KVR I tried to whip around on a sand dune only to end up at a very dangerous angle it dosent look like much in the pic but it was very close to rolling.
Then 35 mountain bikers and a police helicopter showed up to see if I would flip it,talk about embarising!Rather then giving them the pleasure Almac thankfully gave me a lift down the mountain and called a Towtruck on his ham radio. Two hours later I was headed back up we were about 10k from the Van and then...the Tow trucks Tie Rod snapped.Talk about along day!!I will try this again in a couple of days after the wife cools down.
Cheers. 8-)

Sorry ! I have to laugh :-D I did a similar thing a while back with my L300.

What I did was hook a snatch trap uphill to a tree and scooted down on an angle. Worked very well as the strap has flex in it and allowed the rig to shift downwards.

Yeah thats exactly what we did!!
It actually went pretty smooth.
I guess my next Mod will be a Winch had I had one I would have been out in Minutes instead of Hours!!
I actually was not really stuck I was just really worried if I started pointing the front end down she might flip!
The photo does not do justice to the angle it felt like, as was in sitting on the Right side!!
I am just glad all those people and helicopter did not witness a roll over!!

A compliment to your noble beasts that a tow truck
needed a tow truck just to help you!

Looks like you guys had a good time.

Jolly Good, The TardisDeli is packed, ready to go. Got my: come along; hitch circular receiver to attach tow straps (including 3 new 4 inch wide ones straps just in case); tire pump in case we have to air down for the sandy areas; saws & axes. We have our kerosene lantern and jug of lamp oil (wonder is diesel & wvo will work without too much smoke also) to use for ambience instead of a fire place. What's the current local fire status: Is charcoal briquette bbq allowed for cooking?? Happy to just camp in a clearing somewhere, or whatever (have portapotty will offroad). Got my shower tent and solar shower... My delica is so wonderful.

When do we meet? Whose leaving when? Me N My Deli can travel anytime, but Jay TardisDeli works till 5:30 Friday (anyone else travelling from Burnaby on Friday wanna him as your chatty passenger?).

Cheers, Christine.

Hi al, be nice to see you again. Do we have a decision on the camping area yet ???? iT'S ONLY A COUPLE DAYS AWAY.

Hoping to drive up there Friday morning, so far Falco is in convoy with us. Anyone else wanna convoy...Delicat..Rich...Delooka....anyone else -- newcomers very welcome.

For comms both Falco and the Tardis have ham radio 147.26 is our North Shore repeater, so maybe use that unless someone in yr area has the frequency (Al, did you get yrs installed yet?). FRS radio 5 sub 22. VHF marine for when we're by the water, channel 69 dude.

Hope this heat wave is finished by then, how can I bake homemade cookies in this heat... might just hafta substitute with Rice Crispy squares.

C U soon, Christine.

I came this close not making it again! Got called for work all weekend but found an excuse to get out of it... Had to kiss goodbye all that nice double time though, ouch!

So I'm good for Friday morning as well. :-D

Fexlboi, I hear you will be sick on Friday?... 8-) A little bit of fresh air (ie. mini road trip) will do you wonder!

We will be in Vernon/Kelowna Fri-Tue. MTB trip.
I've considered getting away but that is less likely to happen.
Shuttling is not the same without a Delica. :M

Christine, baking tip for you.
Cookie dough on the dash of your Deli.
Leave your van exposed to the sun while you're out on a 5hr XC ride.
Inside temp of van reaches 45deg. If accurate.
Super soft chewy cookies, done! :-D

Have a good time everyone.
