Hi all,
Anyone got a suggestion for this weekend, just me n my delica, to enjoy the last of the good weather and cooking over the campfire-- aromatherapy. Or anyone want to get together.

Last weeks camping near chilliwack river was lovely, warm weather, lots of space to freecamp.

cheers Christine

My favourite place to go for a cool weather wknd is definitely the Skookumchuk hot springs. It's gotten a little more expensive since it was sold, but you can camp off the back road if you want and just visit the springs/tubs.

Otherwise, the far end of the Sunshine Coast has a lot of little gem lakes that are just great.

Good Luck!

Check out free camping at Hale Creek:

I haven't been up that road, but had a good time camping up Chehalis Forest Service Road this summer. Bunch of little lakes. There's a group camping area by the lake, which gets taken over by drunken teenagers with radio from the city. But if you drive past that nonsense, there are a bunch of steep service roads only a Delica can access. I found one that maybe 100m off the main road, there was a little turnaround with a fire ring, and maybe 500 shotgun shells scattered on the ground. No amenities, but no noise, no neighbours. No bears, but wise to be bear-aware.

The sign says you need a camping permit, but doesn't say where you get one. A local told me that people buy seasonal permits, that they're not sold on a per-night basis.
