site issue, picture posting

Post by sub-arctic »

so i discovered that i am unable to post any pictures at all! even if they are resized on photobucket to below the limit that the error keeps saying. anything I am doing wrong? It would be nicer to post pics for my build thread rather than just post links. 8-)

Maximum image size is 960 px wide by 900 px tall. Are you making it small enough?

Here's what it looks like:

What I usually do is load pictures into my gallery in the DC photo section and img link to them in which ever post I am putting up. Are you posting from a computer or a phone? I'm thinking the issue could be at your end.

Download the program "picsizer". It's very easy to use and you can size to however many pixels you want.
When you select your photo it will tell you your pixel height and width. Whatever number is bigger (depends on portrait or landscape) I just resize that to 800, and it automatically adjusts the other value to keep it proportional.

Could "Max 960px width" error message when submitting a post be modified a bit to include which image is causing the problem?
I know other forums are capable.

I also am having an issues with Photobucket delays to uploaded/editing images. Up to an hour delay sometimes.
So the combination can get time consuming and annoying.

Yeah, I've also seen the image auto-resizer on some forums. This forum is phpbb, and I've only seen that on other forum software. We could definitely look into it.

Are you uploading the photos, or just putting a url into img tags?
