Newbie Mods
Ok, only one mod really, and a basic one at that, but there was a repair too!
I swapped the struts on Boba's hatch today, giving me the extra couple inches of headroom. I noticed the hydraulics had an easier time holding the weight of the hatch and the ladder, so nice side effect.
As to the repair, I had to squeeze and hold my exterior side door handle in order to pop the door open. Went inside the door cover and shortened the throw on the rod that controls the catch. Easy peasy...but the inside door cover is a water damaged, so it wouldn't reattach to the plastic widgets. I'll have to deal with a slight sag in the panel until I can find a really tacky double-sided adhesive...

Re: Newbie Mods
Nice!.... but... be careful...
This is an early sign of Modificitis! It leaves you with a constant urge to do more mods - severe cases result in bigger and bigger projects that leave the affected individual thinking ahead several projects and never truly reaching the finished product due to constant need for improvement
My name is Ian and I am a modifiholic.
Cheers!

Re: Newbie Mods
Another hands goes up!!
"Uh Mr. Moderator, is there any specific way of explaining to my other about the importance or necessitation of 'mods' so as not to get thoroughly / sternly looked at or whacked upside the head with that nice new torque wrench I just bought?"
"Better yet will the prescribed medication prevent me from having mod-mares at night?"

Re: Newbie Mods
Ewww.... Mod-mares.... Hardcore, dude. I get them from time to time. Frustrations relived during the small hours.
I generally use the "12-95" rule. If asked how much it cost I just say "12-95". It is not necessary to mention exactly where the decimal point fits into the equation .
Falco.
P.S.: This ploy should not be over used and works better if the first time you purchase something that is actually $12.95 and leave the receipt somewhere not too obvious but where the spousal unit is likely to "discover" it. Then the next time they see you with something and ask you how much you can just glibly reply: "oh, around 12-95..."

Re: Newbie Mods
Hmmm... note to self.... twelve ninety five... got it!
I am currently using camping trips as my excuse for mods. Wifey want to go camping so must design and build an entirely new interior. This does come with a small price tho as design time eats up build time so must build temporary bed setup first. This actually keeps the addiction at bay as it means the mods are done twice... twice the 'pleasure'... and as for 'meds'... they help with creativity.
White Mule... I laughed out loud when I read your post. I also have another addiction of late... a 'certain' CD hasn't left my CD player since we last met... does this make me a dual-diagnosis patient? ..... was that the bell again?....

Re: Newbie Mods
All mods eventually lead to a case of swollen tires, for which extra elevation is the only cure...
