Two delica units being prepared for sale in Nova Scotia

Post by Safari_man »

Hello to all.
Well we are not a certified seller of any type of vehicle.Just finished selling 30 Unimog 404 units and 6 Pinzguer 6X6 vehicles. Basically on the vehicle front we sell Grey market vehicles. I have been involved with diesel vehicles since 1975. So I know the great things about diesels.

Just extracted 4 vehicles from a container. Two delica units and 2 mini trucks.
That was a learning experience.
I have to go over the Delica units and make them proper for sale.
Thinking it is best to do over the following:
Brakes, if not better than 60% replace.
New tires all around plus spare.
If anything worn in suspension/steering replace.
Headlights, go with the replacement E coded version? Add a set of daytime driving lights? Go with square lights instead of the status quo headlights.
Fresh batteries.
Change fluids through.
Change timing belt and water pump.
Replace any vacuum hoses/ all.

As you can see by what I think should be done (What am I missing) these vehicles are going to friends and family.
Have a mechanical team that can do the work.
Want to see these vehicles hit 600,000 KM
Who has the best pricing on spare parts?

Thanking one and All for their imput.

Timing belt and tensioner
Balance belt and tensioner
rad hoses
flush coolant
rebuild radiator
V-belts
water pump thermostat
engine seals front (5)
Add a block heater (you are in there)

Easy motor to work on.

Who is the best on parts hard to say as not all parts are equal. Phone around.

I assume L300 as L400 have a timing chain.
