Bringing a car from BC to Calgary, AB

Post by etsinko »

Hi,
I'm thinking about moving from Vancouver to Calgary. I own '91 Pajero which was bought 3 years ago from VI Custom Cars Import in Parksville. I assume that they completed all the inspections before selling it to me.
How do I bring the car from BC to Alberta? Do I still need to pass an Alberta inspection before I can drive it there? Is it a big hassle?
Are there any mechanics in Calgary that work on diesel JDMs?

Thank you.

Yeah, you will need an out of province inpsection (or cash grab, as I like to call it). Use the search and you will find lots of insurance providers in Calgary area and shops. I know there is a big thread somewhere about insurance in AB and repair shops in Calgary.

What should I prepare for as for OOP?
What are they actually looking for?

kirkham has a decent rep for being Delica friendly - so there is not much to prepare for. If it is good it will pass. I have not heard of them trying to wrangle service jobs out of OOP's like other shops...cough...CT...cough....

Thanks! I'll check them out.
Are there any shops that work with this kind of vehicles? I'm looking for some places that can do maintenance such as oil changes and repairs.
