Buy it Daniel. Then you'll really be one of us :-D :M
$600 is a steal...if it actually runs. Take off that bumper and add some L300 style to it.

I'm considering it very strongly. However, it's in Texas, & I'm in Washington... I'd have no way to get it home myself, unless there's someone who could drive it here for me... :-D I did offer to trade my car for it,but I've no idea what they'll say to that! :-D They have called & left a message.

Wow, that was quick, djjack! If they offer to trade even up, I could just drive my car to Garland & switch vehicles, then drive home! :-D 8-)

Didn't Mitsubishi sell the Vanwagons from 1988-1990?

I think the Vanwagon was just a USA (maybe Europe?) re-label of the cargo van. 2 wheel drive and gas only. 5 bolt rims.

I am expecting a call back from the dealer who listed the van. I inquired about it on their web site. I will keep y'all posted on the details. :-D

I think it was only called that in the American market. Usually badged as the L300 in most other foreign markets.

600$ is a steal, especially if it runs. Spend a couple bucks to have them give it the once over, fix whatever might be required to make the 1000 mile journey and drive it home. Did you ask for pictures and question its running condition?

I'm thinking "Vanwagon" as opposed to "Starwagon". I'm wondering if they were marketing for the Microbus crowd.

I think they were trying to get in on the minivan market which was just starting up about that time. Remember the "Scare-o-star" or the "Crapavan"? Funny thing is, the market was just taking off in NA, but it had already been up and running for at least a decade in the rest of the world. Check out this wikipage: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minivan.

Yeah, I remember when the Japanese cab-over "minivans" came out in England in the eighties. They were smaller than the Commer van, you could park them anywhere and they carried a lot of stuff. Ideal for the tradesman working in tight spaces like London.
