Re: help please! wiper arm removal

Success. Thanks. The inside of the "socket" of the wiper arm had been completely smoothed out. I "cut" some new splines into it with a utility knife and then filled it with threadlocker before putting it back on. Seems to have worked.

Re: help please! wiper arm removal

Is this in regards to the front, or the rear wiper? I'm trying to get the rear wiper arm of without much luck, and I want to be sure I'm prying on the right part. I think my splines are stripped because I can hear the motor working but the arm doesn't move.

Re: Never thought it would happen, but I came across a forum

That is awesome! I'm glad you chased him down! On a somewhat related note... I just got back from a week in the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State-- literal within sight of Victoria where there's a Delica on every corner. People down there were going absolutely ApeSh*T over the van-- guys were ye...

Re: Brake line and sway bar problems

That does not look correct! Is it possible the nut has bottomed out...You might need a shorter bolt or a bolt with longer threads. Actually come to think of it your lift Mod probably caused it... Can you shim out the upper attatch point to drop sway bar down a wee bit? I think that is what caused it...

Brake line and sway bar problems

Two problems: One I have had for quite awhile-- I just can't seem to tighten up the bolt on the sway bar link enough so that the end of the bar sits properly between the bushings. The angle seems too extreme, and has been since I did a lift on my van a few years ago. I figure this is the source of a...

Re: CV Boots part #'s, please confirm

Thanks Jesse. On an unrelated note, I just dropped by the shop where it is being worked on (front diff being replaced) to let them know I had located the CV boots, and the owner(who I have known and trusted for a long time) and another mechanic were looking at something on the front end and swearing...

Re: CV Boots part #'s, please confirm

ANybody know which would which: The "Boot Kit, Axle Shaft" would that be the inner or the outer CV Boot? Obviously "Boot Kit, Axle Joint" is the other one, but again,... which is which? (I ask because I'm having trouble finding one of them)

Importing these from the UK. Seem to work very well and do not have the corrosion issues of the super winch hubs.
Corrosion issues?

Re: Going Electric?

Here is some inspiration: http://www.steamwhistle.ca/retroelectro/ I wish they converted the old ford van (http://www.steamwhistle.ca/ourbeer/steammachine.php) There are a few blogs floating around with VW bus electric conversions. The one advantage of a van is the capability of filling the back wi...

Yes, thanks Batman-- I just wanted to check if I was reading the JDM parts website correctly, as that will definitely be a useful resource in the future!
