Re: additives

Hi patrice, for my diesel L300, I do add additive. Ensure it says "Lubricates" (versus saying "cleans" which has alcohol and does not lubricate, in fact alcohol is a solvent thus it removes the lubricant that coats the metal parts) because the lubricant help keep engine metal par...

Re: Campout? Saturday 18jan2014. WHERE? TBD. squamish, chilli

Hi Almac. Wish you were here, havent seen you in ages. We did a day trip only, on forestry road, and found two great spots for future camping along Squamish River north of town (north of Tim Horton's aka Safari Snack Suppliers). We had gorgeous weather, hot sunshine and sunburnt faces, and NO FOG (s...

Re: pre- vs. post-facelift Star Wagon differences, options

Hi Brian. welcome to the cult. (NOTE when I started this reply, i wrote comparing your USA model to our 4wd model ... then i realized you meant to compare pre 1991 with post 1991 japanese L300... so keep reading). From the drivers seat both usa and japanese look quite similar. Your van was marketed ...

Campout? Saturday 18jan2014. WHERE? TBD. squamish, chilliwack

Hi all. I wanna campout, saturday. Location undecided. Perhaps explore squamish river north of squamish town (I canoed near there last sunday, no snow) or chilliwack area (less snow than Hope area). No rain, let's go and get some campfire smoke therapy. Each person can bring a coupla milk crates of ...

Re: Lower Mainland Delica Meet Before The Sleet Sets In.

See you there. The under cover parking now has a height restriction bar that is useless for us. But our usual sw corner is fine, access as usual. I suggest in case ikea is on strike, that we meet across the street at KMS tools, just west of IKEA. KMS has large parking lot, at 110 Woolridge Street, V...

Re: Russian Maps

Hi simon. The old russian maps are still considered the best, by the Royal Geographers society, for all countries that do not have an expert mapping dept. So for africa and other off-road Expedition trips, the russian maps are still considered accurate and are widely used (they were sooo accurate at...

Re: Cold start issues

For info on testing the 2 prong temperature sensor, look on the posting titled "rebuild the ECU" and look at page 2, for details by Morganizer on how to test the coolant sensor (go ask a local amateur Radio operator to help test electrical -- look for a house with a huge antenna on the roo...

Re: 1990 L300 Green 4WD Indicator On Dash Staying On?

Autos hubs are wonderful. To cancel the 4x4 light, in neutral with brake on, move levers back to 2wd. then take off brake, and reverse at least one full tire rotation, should hear a clunk under your feet, and the light goes out. cheers christine.

Re: surging idle after refuelling with wvo

Thanks for the extra info. Still suggest gunk in lines, especially because you say problems worse after adding in the new wvo...you have stirred up the old wvo. The filters inside your wvo filter can be very tiny (my donaldson's are smaller than a baby finger) so the least little lumpy wvo will cove...
