Not sure if you guys have LPG available there but adding ecoshot lp system that is available in the states not only gives greater perfomance but encreases your range.

These Delicas come from Japan, and are used extensively in mountain areas, a lot of the ski and winter resorts use them as transport.
So o would not worry about cold just take normal precautions and if posable get one already fitted with snow pack (duel batt heated seats etc)

There are left hand drive ones available in a few countries most are only 2wd and small motor so i guess it would be posable to do a swap over with a doner car
