Soon to be saying good-bye to Delica.ca and my Delica...

With great sadness, I will soon be saying goodbye to this website. In the fall, I'm going to be taking full time school for a few years straight, and won't be able to afford to keep and maintain a car (school ain't cheap these days!). I just wanted to say thanks to all who helped me troublesho...

Add a few more to the tally. Forgot to update this one: had ALL this work redone at CVI and couldnt be happier! Except for the price tag of course....oh well! Some aftermarket non-OEM parts were used by Japanoid which they denied. Live and learn. All we can do is warn others of shoddy shops and crap...

I've been using 2 stroke oil in every tank diesel or veg. Vast improvement on diesel. Can't tell on veg. Not enough 100% wvo miles logged. Will know in August.
I thought the 2-stroke was only supposed to be used in the winter months, when the diesel changes to the winter "blend"?

I wouldn't think it'd be that advisable to do it every change. Never know what else that stuff can be breaking down (gaskets, bearings, seals etc). Probably best to do it only once in a while.

I can see this being especially handy if someone gives out good mechanical advice. There's lots of "X2"'s out there after someone gives their opinion on a diagnosed problem. This way people could "like" someones advice. Often there are varying ideas and responses of how people ca...

Re: Lights off lower EGT's?!?

Thanks, that seems to make sense in regards to the alternator loading the engine a bit more. I would suggest driving everywhere with your foot to the floor to keep the voltage up, and hence, the indicated EGT temps down. :-D Is this a joke though, or is there some truth to this? Seems kinda counter-...

L300 Front Side Steps (FREE!)

Anyone have any use for the front side steps off an L300? They're white and have a few small rust spots (pin-sized), but are otherwise in good condition. I don't see myself putting them back on anytime soon. Lemme know if you're interested! They're FREE!

Lights off lower EGT's?!?

Recently noticed something with my EGT's. When I run the van with the headlights off, the temps seem to remain a bit lower. Also, when I stop driving the van, and am waiting for the EGT's to lower before shutting it down, it seems like the temperature drops faster when I turn off the headlights... I...

Don't do business with Japanoid.

I made a post a few months ago regarding some "poor" service I had from Japanoid. To make a long story short, I have a timing belt that needs re-doing (was just done last February) and my head gasket blew a month and a half ago (which had been done not long before that by the previous owne...

I had great success with a heat gun and a plastic razor blade. I was worried there would be darker paint underneath due to it being hidden from UV rays for the past 20 years but it's not even noticeable that there was decals there at all! Didn't really find there was any way I could have messed it u...
