what did you do WITH your delica today

Delica makes a great boat launch vehicle, especially on a gravel beach like Pender Island.

Low gearing and 4x4 makes a decent log skidder too!

How much can a Deli hold?

A lot! Here's our toys and camping gear. And another beach pic. This is Tenacatita, the best coral reef on the Pacific coast.

Oil light sensor rating

Does anybody know the correct pressure rating for the L400 Diesel oil light sender? Mine blew out in Colima, Mexico, and I'm running with a gas engine replacement. At least there's no more oil spraying on the engine. I'd like to but a generic unit with the right pressure range.

Break in your new 4x4 Mexican style

I mentioned to a friend that the owner must be very rich. My friend pointed out the owner was probably wondering where his car was.

Re: Back in the US of A from Mexico

To the left and right of the mosquito screen, there are strips of sticky-back Velcro. Over the top lip, an elastic strip in the fabric. Around the lower section, there are little super magnets sewn in about every 8". It's arranged so that there is no interference with closing the door, if neede...

Quickie to California

Just returned from a 10-day jaunt to attend my mom's 90th in Mendocino.

I've got 254,000 km on the Deli (117,000) are mine. Got all new belts installed.

Awfully scenic down there!

Re: Nootkase heads for Mexico, Again

I guess I should have checked in when I got back... Trip 5 went well, in the sense that nothing bad happened. We did have a tailgate issue. It was becoming harder to close, then I found one hinge was seized. It was bending, not hinging. Managed to get it off by burning a hole through the headliner w...

Nootkase heads for Mexico, Again

Any other Delis on our route? Ajo, San Carlos, Celestino Gasca, San Blas, La Manzanilla. This is our 4th, no, 5th, trip! Hard to keep track. Last time we visited the wild beaches near Playa Maito, Jalisco. Wild country, beautiful, rough, beaches. We should be somewhere down there until early March. ...
