Re: What has better mileage, the gasser or the diesel?

Good to know, thanks. Diesel in the US (where my BC-reg'd Deli would live most of the time) is about ~$0.20 more expensive per gallon than unleaded. I am guessing that since the gas engine is shared w/ the Montero it would be easier to maintain in the US (where nobody has heard of Mitsu diesel engin...

What has better mileage, the gasser or the diesel?

I did search but I can't seem to find any posts that discuss the mileage of the gasser L400 vs. the diesel. Lots discuss the diesel, obviously. Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance.

Re: 1994 Delica L400 Spacegear SWB with extras

I'm kind of sort of interested in this one, but not sure if I need the lift kit since the stock clearance is going to be more than enough for my needs. I'm assuming removing such a lift would be somewhat of a PITA? No sense in paying for something I don't really need, right?

Should I keep looking?

Mt. Baker Delicas?

I have seen a handful of L300 Delicas up at Mt. Baker ski area in the past couple of weeks. I talked to a guy who had a lifted white high roof L300 w/ a light bar on the roof today, and there was a greenish one (maybe w/ poptop?) lurking about recently as well.

Anyone else frequent the area?

Re: Not another "guy from US that wants a Delica" thread...

Thanks for the info Luna-Sea. I'm kind of torn between the L300 and L400 as each has their own pros and cons. I'm a fan of the Chamonix/Jasper winter packages of the L300 (are they available in L400?) but I like the L400 for the airbag, front engine, switchable 2/4WD, etc. I think a test drive or th...

Re: Not another "guy from US that wants a Delica" thread...

Just got off the phone with ICBC. Apparently it's fine to own/register/insure a car in BC w/ a US license, but they told me to expect major hassles with border crossings. "Yes, it's my car. Yes, I'm a US citizen. No, it's not stolen. Please put down the glove."

Re: Not another "guy from US that wants a Delica" thread...

Currently I'm living about 30km from the border as the crow flies, so that's not an issue. I can be in Kits in ~2h.

My California digs are quite a bit further.

Hmm, I will look into the long-range insurance issue. I guess I'd probably need a BC DL too, huh?

Not another "guy from US that wants a Delica" thread...

Well, it's kind of true, as I was born and bred in the US, but there's a twist: I am a Canadian citizen w/ a Canadian permanent address. I have been scouring this forum for a while now and it seems that the Delica is one of the best vehicles out there for what I want. The only issue is that I live i...
