Re: EGR delete a bad idea?

Dear enthusiasts! EGR ist only active when the engine load is comparatively small. Only when You push on harder it will close completely. That is blanking the EGR won't change the top temperatures in Your diesel engines AT ALL. Our EGRs are a cheap retrofit solution to meet newer emission control st...

Re: am i pushing my deli too hard?

Excuse me, Kyle!

A little OT: On the one hand you are right - the Audi plant is not even 100 kms far from my place. Lots of audis around here and a lively scene, too. But that makes them so inflationary that they are considered as absolutely normal: An Audi - so what?!

;-)

Re: am i pushing my deli too hard?

Man Im loving learning about all of this diesiel tuning cause theres no worry about igintion or advance/retarding the ignition! Wayy simpler! Hi Eric! you are right. Plus: No headscratching about valve timing and compression ratio. But: Please keep in mind the audi 5-cylinder is a petrol engine wit...

Re: A possible red eye question, another fuel/power question.

Thanks to Eric for the explanation and to Falco for the warm welcome -> hello to the community! @ Eric: I'm well aware there are lots of possible reasons for power loss in general. But I asked you to consider the possible pulley-problem ("ppp") because it is typical for intermittent power ...

Re: A possible red eye question, another fuel/power question.

Hi, Eric, "intermittent" power you say? Have a close look at the timing belt pulley sitting on the crankshaft front end. If it not properly fixed after belt change it may get loose - setting up the timing. As a secondary consequence it damages the crankshaft end. Sometimes "only"...

Re: am i pushing my deli too hard?

Hi, audi4life, Diesel tuning ist veeeerrrrry simple: You just improve air intake and raise the amout of injected fuel accordingly. No lambda to be respected. Aside from governmental exhaust gas regulations (soot) the main limit is obvious: A little more power means much more heat - hence the EGT-mea...

Re: am i pushing my deli too hard?

Hi, audi4life, your idea of using an A/F gauge might be difficult to implement since there is no standard oxygen sensor in the delica diesel engine. And: Is this kind of indicator really suitable to do proper diesel tuning? It might be the right device for petrol-engines which require a lambda-1 air...

Re: am i pushing my deli too hard?

Hello delipushers! ... and thanks, after oil, for mentioning the snorkel! Besides of letting the engine breathe cleaner (sometimes also drier) air from above, it might have a positive side effect: It supplies the engine with outside air which usually is cooler than the atmosphere in the engine bay. ...

Re: am i pushing my deli too hard?

Greetings to all Delica pushers! This is my first posting. I am a Delica 4WD-driver from Munich, Germany. Here this car seems to have almost completely disappeared from the roads. For me it feels quite similar: The question whether I am overstraining the poor 2.5-Litre Diesel-engine accompanies me e...
