Re: WVO additive or biocide

This is new territory for me, but I'm inquiring about burning it in my Delica as an additive in a WVO-diesel mixture.

Re: WVO additive or biocide

Thanks to both of you. I'm onto it. Does anyone else know about or have experience using acetone?

Re: WVO additive or biocide

Thanks D. So now ...Duh! What's biocide? No wait; it's actually a nicely descriptive noun. I get it. Short of a lump of plutonium in the tank, however, what do people use and where to they get it?
I appreciate your effort to help out.

WVO additive or biocide

Just bought a couple of thousand litres of filtered WVO. Good oil but I'm worried about bacterial or fungal growth since it will take me more than a year to use it in my single tank system. I know there's additives for diesel fuel. Anybody know anything about this concern or additives?

Re: Need a jack

Thanks Green1, you gave me an idea. I'll try to borrow a Delica stock jack then take it around to see what I can find. Also, once I see what it looks like I can go online. Just needed my brain jogged a bit, I guess.

Re: Another newby

Welcome! :) Always good to see other backcountry people about. Do you ski on bended knee? Nope! The noise from my knees interferes with my concentration. On the advice of a ski guide pal I went AT 20 years ago or so. Said I'd get another 15 years of skiing if I didn't telemark. Young Susy (she's wa...

Re: diesel additives

Well, thanks everyone. I've just learned a lot. Still don't know what I'm going to do about additives, but I've learned a bunch. Looks like it's going to be fun and very helpful. I appreciate all the input.

diesel additives

Just got our Delica and a neighbour said that I'd get better mileage (kilometreage?) and longer pump and injector life if I used an additive. He said that what they had to remove from standard fuel to help get the sulphur out of it also removed the lubrication component. He runs a diesel Land Cruise...

Need a jack

We've just had our 92 L300 a few days and love it so far, but it came without a jack. I've checked out Lordco, CanTire etc locally and I'd have to get a 22-ton pot jack to get the lift I need. Does anyone have for sale a regular L300 jack or know where I might find one or know what else might work? ...

Hi there, Sue and I just picked up our '92 L-300 last week. She hasn't even driven it yet. It's a pretty regular turbo diesel automatic, dark green and with the high roof. We plan on using it mostly for recreation. We're mountaineers and backcountry skiers (if a little long in the tooth) so hopefull...
