Re: Air care for diesels?

I read that as a tax grab and a step to eventual fleet renewal legislation. So what is the point of buying an engine that can put on half a million km's for more money, paying more for fuel/taxes/maintenance, and then having to replace it after 10 years? This will hurt industry, and in turn hurt our...

You essentially have a Montero in RHD. Just search for that vehicle when looking for parts. Make sure its the 3.5L and you're golden.

Re: Your top five... or 10.

Rocker cover seals, oil/air/fuel filters, brake pads, tranny filter could be changed, pitman/idler arm. The disposables really. Im at 180000Km and haven't had to do much else besides re-turning rotors and injectors cleaned when first bought at 90000km. Depends on previous maintenance and abuse more ...

Re: Aluminum Roof Mount Baskets on sale at Princess for $99!

Cool. I have the rear hitch basket. They go on sale for 80 bucks every once in a while. Now they have one with the upward angle for better approach angles too! Its really handy for a shorty paj.

Here's the roof basket:

Re: Pajero head light - round!

Im waiting for the price of these new LED round headlights to go down. Looks like it would be a huge improvement. I really dislike the standard round lights, even with hela aux driving lights.

It controls braking force to the rear tires depending on how much weight you're carrying (ride height). Very important in a loaded vehicle.

I believe you just need a new drop down bracket the same size as your lift, Im sure someone can ellaborate.

Only the LWB have it, not my prob..

Re: Trouble having work done on my vehicle

I had the same 'problem' with CVI and general maintenance of the truck. They're always great, but its almost like they don't want my money sometimes! I swear I have to twist their arm to work on the vehicle if I would like it done. Its always, "buy this two dollar part and do it yourself, you'r...

Re: 1993 2.8 LWB - OME complete suspension kit & 1" coil spa

At around 4" and up you need to keep an ear out for the driveline vibrations, and you will probably have to extend your brake lines. Drop down brackets for the rest, especially the rear brake compensator. And I'd definately extend the bumpstop if you do any wheeling/hard driving. Spring bind ca...

Re: 94 l400 bucking when cold

Not sure if it was mentioned, but I was having starting issues, so I bought new plugs thinking it was probably them. Took it all apart, tested each old plug, they were all good. Cleaned it up, put it back together, and it has started as good as ever, half a crank, very little warmup. Just cleaning t...

Re: Shogun on the youtube!

Cheap but beat to crap apparently lol. Whats a scene tax? For 4x4/suv? I think you guys were doing the grey market thing a way before us so they've depreciated to their actual value. Our Mitsu's won't be worth any more once they start to show their age and the importers under spray paint rusts throu...

Re: L400 4"/6" lift kit

Yeah, you'd have to regear both axles, although depending what gears you have now, there may not be an option for better gearing on the L400. If you already have the 4.88/4.90 you're hooped.

For 5g's, it would be cheaper to strip the drivetrain and throw a couple solid toyota axles under there.

Re: Towing

Nobody is going to get upset about a 3.5l. Especially once you throw on the twin turbo setup from a 3000GT. :o I would skip the pyro and just get an aftermarket coolant temp sensor with alarm. In my experience it tells you way more than the pyro. The stock gauge is mostly useless, and if you every ...

Good for background noise yeah.

Nick, in the states you can get montero parts just as cheap, we just get fleeced. I couldn't believe how cheap that defender was, and that it didn't have a better rollcage!
