Re: Why don't people like Delicas in Alberta ?
I live in Calgary again, and I can say that they are still everywhere. I know of two delicas, a sweet swb prado, a safari and a few subaru's all withing a few blocks from my house. They're definitely out there. The population is similar, but there are many many more roads here, and many more cars. T...

Re: delica owners meet n greet Saturday May 9 2015
I can likely make it. If the wife is into it, we can bring down our two Pajero's! We typically do our shopping run at the local Costco and Superstore. I have a co-worker with a dead L400. If I can get his butt in gear to swap his alternator (we hope its the problem) then I'm sure he'd also be down. ...

Re: Pajero Petrol
Funny thing. After having the SWB 2.8 for about five years, we have decided to move to a 4 dr due to a new addition to the family, and almost regrettably, I went with the 3.5L V6 Pajero. Figured it may be less maintenance long term in our new cold home of Calgary. I was looking for a later model mon...

Re: Thinking about importing a Pajero 2.8 Diesel
Haha, we just bought our second pajero. We really needed the four doors and extra cargo room, so got the same year, 1993, but with the 3.5L DOHC V6. Man does this truck move compared to the diesel, but yes, you can watch the fuel gauge drop if you're working it much above 3000RPM. Hwy mileage is 15L...

Very cool. I've been envisioning a sliding/folding bed unit for the new truck, and admittedly overkill for what I need, that design is giving me some great ideas!
Thanks for that!

Re: Pre purchase questions
Your dad knows how to do it. I've done the same, and a big thanks to CVI for talking me out of replacing parts that didn't really need, it has saved me thousands. Its a 15-20 year old car, it will have quirks. Keep the cooling system in top shape, and the rest will be fine. 5 years of driving this t...

Re: Thinking about importing a Pajero 2.8 Diesel
 In my quest for a 4dr pajero/montero I've been doing more research. I did a cost benefit analysis between a higher mileage 3.5 DOHC and our current diesel with major maintenance for another couple hundred thousand kms, and the diesel ended up being cheaper after only the first year, mainly b...

Re: Thinking about importing a Pajero 2.8 Diesel
Hey, if you're set on a diesel montero or love mitsubishi they are great trucks. I get around 14/L/100kms average city/hwy, sometimes as low as 11L/100km on flat road trips. The problem with diesel in Calgary is they rely on a glowplug system to start, and its pretty damn cold there. When I drive up...

Re: I think I understand the "HOLD" mode on my transmission.
But hold it! It also holds (helps keep) it in overdrive longer when attempting a hill/keeping speed before it gears down. "The PWR and HOLD switch will only work if the gear selector is in Drive and the OverDrive is switched off." I don't agree. Both switches work properly when OD is off, ...

Re: Pajero Petrol
"But if for you there is nothing else better than diesel, well I'm sorry to have disappointed you hehehe." Haha, well. I agree the Gas model is likely better, in just about every way. In fact, other than running WVO, I see no advantage what so ever with diesel. I also think many on this si...

Re: I think I understand the "HOLD" mode on my transmission.
I think it not only bypasses first gear from a stop, but changes your TPS settings so it stays in OD longer before gearing down to 4th. I noticed this was really good on icy hwys where gearing down to 4th on an uphill would cause wheel spin/sliding, but forcing it to lug in OD kept your speed up and...

Re: Why such high mileage?
Many JDM's are sold without any credible paperwork when they arrive into Canada, or wherever. So I wouldn't be surprised what so ever.. Ever notice the overwhelming silence on the dealers behalf whenever this topic would come up? When shopping for the Pajero, behind the waxy detail and fresh spraypa...

Whats the point of buying a Paj if its Gas?
Other than a couple more accessories/options, why not buy a newer model year Montero from the states or locally for half the price as an importing from Japan??
Just sayin'.. :)

Re: 2.8 TD major oil problem
Again, try replacing the oil cap.
It can make a mess if it doesn't hold a seal. Its only like 15 bucks to find out.
