Re: Need an L300 windshield

Omigod! It's even worse than I thought- I was looking at the date you joined- not the posted date! - Now I really feel ridiculous!!! Have you had any luck trying Speedy Glass?

Re: Need an L300 windshield

I had mine replaced by speedy glass in Grande Prairie this summer- their service was good, and total including installation was $370.74. I think you may need to give them the windshield code- the one on the invoice is FW00563ZTN, which is a "Foriegn Windshield"

Re: Turbo 101 Help

hey Redmond- I too have replaced mine with the garret from max odrive- same issue with the wastegate rod- i just bent it to fit. I don't recall how many psi I was making at first- I think around 8-9, but installed a boost controller from gofastbits, and now am running 12 psi (Crazy difference with t...

Re: Excessive Vibration Under Load

Have you considered your rear universal joints? Mine went this summer- vibration was pretty heavy under load, better when cruizing at speed, but easily noticeable. 'Smooth like butter once I replaced them. Also- the vibes when idling could be your engine mounts (I've heard)- I have the same vibratio...

Re: Glow plug 'click'

Funny to find this post- I'm having the same thing happen. I changed the glowplugs, turned the key, no click, nothin'. I checked the temp sensor, got a bad reading, so ordered a new one, which arrived yesterday. I immersed the new one in a jar of ice water, plugged the harness in, and still no click...

Re: rough start, high idle...

Just thought of one more thing... When I was last working on the van, I also removed the belt to the a/c compressor- we don't use it so...,(just trying to squeeze that last mpg outta there) but on the off-chance, I tried pushing the a/c button on the dash- but the rev's didn't go up. I'll try re-ins...

Re: rough start, high idle...

Hi- yeah, the throttle cable is lubed- that is worth asking, though (thanks). The trouble did start after replacing the fuel filter. maybe i'll try bleeding it one more time... My wife ran the espar (coolant heater) this morning, as it was about 0c, and she said it started fine. Still, I don't think...

rough start, high idle...

hello- all !- i've just replaced the fuel filter recently, and added some lucas oil stabilizer to the oil. the van was running great- super-smooth, and noticeably quieter ! - about a week later (coincidence, or not), the van starts extremely hard (it turns- over and catches just fine, but with waay ...

Re: Circulating heater install

Matthew- I've got my espar tied-in at the coolant lines just below the fuel filter with a couple of y's. It's cut in right after the metal elbows, and it's tight in there, but it does provide access if needed. Are you out in Riding Mountain, by chance? Call me @ 204-667-4614 if you have any other qu...

Re: Grumble, Grumbling....

Hey again- I just found some good info in the owners manual which tells me to drive in 4h for awhile in cold climes to warm the transfer case, then switch to 2h. Me feeling not too smart for not having "read instructions". Oh well, live and learn- and laugh at myself...!

Grumble, Grumbling....

Hey folks- I've got an odd thing happening with the van- when I start out in the morning- I am having this loud growling noise coming from the front end. I had thought it to be a wheel bearing on its way out, but the sound is a much more rapid growling noise than the wheel bearing is likely to make ...

Re: Coolant Change - Winter's approaching...

Hi John- A quick question- You mentioned that corrosion protection doesn't really start until -36? Does this mean the temp rating of your solution in the motor- as in it is corrosive IF the water/coolant mix is "mixed" to be rated past 36 below? Please clarify!! Thanks, Kevin
