Re: Best year/model to buy?

Welcome to the club, Baer ~ <snip> I would further recommend keeping an eye on "Events - BC Lower Mainland", which is in the "Delica Canada General" forum. This way you get to meet the Delicas and their drivers in person ~ and if you play your cards right ~ you might get them to...

Any experience with this mechanic (Adria Import Car Service)

A friend recently pointed out that there is a Delica mechanic in my 'hood, walking distance, on East Broadway and Fraser in Vancouver. They are Adria Import Car Service and they "do Delicas" from what I saw and heard (went to talk to the people who work there). The main guys are Mark and A...

Re: Mechanic reference

Hi Everyone, My smoky Deli needs an engine tune in Greater Vancouver and I think I'll get Mardy to do it. Even at my advanced age I'm still learning, the latest lesson was to check references before jumping in with both feet. Mardy seems to be well respected judging by the comments in this forum, I...

Re: Door locks and remote locking mechanism

My side door has stopped locking/unlocking, yet I still believe that I can hear the actuator. I believe someone mentioned something about using a pencil eraser on the contacts??? I have also decided to install a remote locking mechanism, but the driver's door would require an actuator to be install...

Re: A strange sqeaky sound?

My bet would be one of the belts also. I had a similar horifying noise, kinda a squeal with some chirps thrown in. When the belts got done it went away. The sound indeed is coming from the engine... so I guess it might be the belts. Though the strange thing is that I got this car from Mardy, who re...

A strange sqeaky sound?

Quite random, and not all the time... yet... this squeaky sound simply doesn't sound right. It doesn't happen on high speeds (like, about 50 km/h). Only on slow speeds, and even on idle. Sometimes when it is cold, or when milder. Has started first about 2 weeks ago, and continues with irregular freq...

Re: Need to see the snow!!

Going to seem a strange request but can anyone post some pics of what the weather is like where you are at the moment please? I know that you get a lot of snow overthere in the winter and we get nothing, as I have said before I love the cold weather and just need a little sample of it to make me fe...

Re: What parts/tools/"stuff" do you normally carry with you?

Oh ben....you are soo 100% on the mark. I've never been so competent and paranoid at the same time with any vehicle I've own before! Thank you both Ben and Sean for the encouragement. I guess I am on the right track here, as I do know how to change a flat tire, can find the oil gauge to check, mana...

What parts/tools/"stuff" do you normally carry with you?

Oh, boy... I am really seeing myself "getting deeper and deeper" with all the information and experience here... ;-) For someone who is not much of a mechanic (like myself) and will probably not be able to do any major repair myself (OK, who am I kidding?! probably not much of a minor repa...

The meaning and life purpose of the OD button?

Am trying to understand the purpose of the OD (overdrive) button on my automatic gear, and why/when might it be a good idea to use it.

Thanks,
Simon

Re: Hi all from LadyBug

There is a LOT to be said about good quality food (as you write). NRG is good, and Tobi used to eat it - until he stopped. He has been on raw food for a long time, and so it makes a difference; additionally, adding some salmon oil makes the hair (or fur) softer and also reduces some shedding. And l...

Re: Hi all from LadyBug

Is it true the doodles don't shed like a lab? Yep - doods have "hair" rather than "fur" - no undercoat. And while they don't shed (well, no more than a person...), they do need periodic clipping as the hair grows continuously. Besides the shepardoodle we also have a husky / gold...
