Re: Import to the US??
The US federal govt leaves it to the states in terms of highway safety testing once a vehicle has made it past the border control. i.e. federal agents do not issue state motor vehicle safety tests - they are administered at the state level, usually through "inspection stations" via the loc...

Re: Center console
Glenn That is gorgeous! It has just been bumped into "must have" territory for me - I'd love to be able to complete the set with either a or console for the rear passengers as well... Mitsu had one in Japan that I have seen only in pictures - but nowhere nearly as nice as yours. Please kee...

rear shackle specs?
I have read in a couple of places on line that folks had successfully used shackles designed to lift Toyota tacomas to lift their Delicas. For those of you who have a shackle lift in the rear, does anyone know the specs for the shackles on their lift kits? Also, are most of you using just shackles o...

Duddly I sent you a PM. I also posted an abbreviated version of the answer to this question on this string: http://www.delica.ca/forum/usa-4x4-diesel-delica-conversion-how-much-is-it-worth-3800.html The reality is that yes, it is possible to drive what is for all intents and purposes a Delica in the...

Re: USA 4x4 / Diesel Delica conversion how much is it worth ?
t's a bad idea to take a VIN from a $500 1990 USA Mits van and putting it on a JDM 1990 Delica, no. Seems too easy, so it's gotta be against the law. A straight VIN swap is certainly not a good path. The reality is that there is no hard and fast rule on US Customs importation (Believe me: I've done...

Re: Left Hand Drive Delica 1993
I called on it this week to check. Mardy is dead on - it is from Taiwan. The seller said that his Uncle owns a body shop in Taiwan and converted it. I think this explains the "mixed" heritage on the body that Jfarsang points out. The double sliding doors were done at the shop - they took t...

Re: American in Vancouver on Temp Assignment - Dig the Delica
I've spoken to a few registered importers in the US on this topic. Here is the skinny: -Vehicles under 25 years old that are not on the DOT/NHTSA exempted vehicle list cannot be imported. The Delica is not on this list. The Pajero is, however, so Pajero's can be imported. -If you wanted to try and g...

Re: In need of head gasket - In California
Don't know of a lead on parts, but you may want to check with someone who deals with Mitsubishi Fuso trucks... the engine may have made it to the US inside one of the Fuso Box trucks... worth a shot. I do know that the Fuso's did have a 2.5L 4cyl turbodiesel at one point. The engine code is 4D56 I b...

2.5l fuso vs 2.5l delica: same engine??
I was wondering if the 2.5l 4cyl turbo diesel on the Fusos from the late 80's/early 90's is compatible with, or even share parts with, the 2.5l 4cyl td's on the Delicas? Anyone know??
Thanks in advance
