Re: Running a wire for a backup cam

I just ran one to mount on the back of my bike rack (so I can see when I’m about to smash the valuable things into surroundings). Because of this I did not need to get the video wire into the tailgate, but rather ran it down below the tools and out the bumper. This then allowed wiring to the front ...

Re: Repairing Bad Roof Rust with Bondo

Nice work. I just had this done on mine as well, but they welded the panels that they cut, and it definitely cost a pretty penny.... but I have no idea how to do body work :( For anyone out there, this WILL happen to your car, this is a guarantee, especially in Canada where you have high humidity. I...

Re: cd changer removal

I have a 1997 LWB with the 3.0l gas engine, Super Exceed. At the back of the van is a CD changer. I removed it yesterday, but that caused the touchscreen HVAC control to stop working. It looks like for some reason (possibly the Nav system?) the touch screen control unit passes some of its wiring th...

Re: Running a wire for a backup cam

So I just did this yesterday. "Hard" is obviously a relative definition :-D I was fixing the famous two spots of rust on the front of the car, so I took the entire headliner off - front anf back. I would say that's NOT worth going THAT far for a rearview cam (although obviously made the jo...

Need a high roof spoiler for a PD6W (‘94 or later?)

Looking for a spoiler. Ideally blue but any colour OK. This is for the high roof, so no brake light. Anyone happen to have one?

Re: V6 L400 - Premium or Regular?

Mine says 91 octane on it, so I use that or better. Far as I know it’s all about timing, and if you’re ignition timing is not set up for premium then high-octane won’t be the benefit you imagine it to be. Yup, as I posted above, don’t forget it’a a Japanese car and it will show a RON requirement. C...

Re: V6 L400 - Premium or Regular?

Keep this in mind: Under Japanese Industrial Standard, octane rating of gasoline must be 89.0 or above for Regular and 96.0 or above for High-octane respectively. High-octane gasolines commonly sold in Japan normally have 98-100 octane rating regardless of brands. So maybe mid-grade is what you’re ...

Re: Brake rotors / pads - where to get?

Hiya Jbourne, Rear rotor and pads can be had at any parts store. I went with the same year montero( Which I feel I found in a sticky somewhere uk or aussie or here maybe?) . Front rotors are the issue, they are specific to L400s and are bigger than their montero counterpart. Pads though for the fro...

Brake rotors / pads - where to get?

Looking to do a brake service on my Delica. I see Coombs has them, but 85x2 + 135x2 for rotors + around 250 for all pads seems a bit on the expensive side - that's edging towards $1K with tax and shipping for brakes. Maybe I'm misguided on how much brakes for the Delica go for, but has anyone found ...

Re: Depo LHD headlights for L400 post-facelift Delicas (1998+)

Thread bump. I have a few locally here now so it would only take whatever time Canada Post takes to deliver - after that, not sure, it’s kind of a hassle with the global shipping being a disaster ... so grab one if you’re on the fence!

Do you get 8%-14% better fuel economy though? (the price differential between 87 and the higher grades). If not ... why do it?
