Re: Slow acceleration, sluggish up hills, boost pressure <6psi. Whats wrong?!
I have my boost gauge teed into the line going to the IP diaphragm... is that a bad idea? The hose is still connected to the boost compensator, yes. I wish it were that simple.

Slow acceleration, sluggish up hills, boost pressure <6psi. Whats wrong?!
Hello all, I have experienced a 70-80% decrease in power in my van. It starts fine (after 3-4 cranks... not great, but normal for mine) and idles fine but is extremely sluggish up hills and refuses to go above ~3000 rmp. I have a boost gauge installed and it is reading a measly 6psi under load, uphi...

Aluminum swing out tire carrier
So I welded a decent swing-out tire carrier onto the back of my van last summer. Its steel. Its solid. And it weighs a freakin' TONNE. So much that I think it is actually having a big impact on my mpg and acceleration. I like the design of my tire carrier, but I want to reduce weight. Can I re-make ...

Re: Goodyear Duratrac's
Those of you with duratracs under your L300s: what was your solution to the 15" rim issue? As I understand it, Goodyear only makes duratracs in 6 ply to fit a 15" rim. I've had many flats so far. I really like how the tire performs, but 6 ply tires pop like party balloons! What is the solu...

Girdie is on the block
Greetings! I am a little late joining this club as I acquired Girdie (a '93 L300 Chamonix formerly known as the 'space antelope') in the spring of 2013. I have been a very active non-member of this site finding the answers to most of my mechanical problems here. I figured it was time to get fully im...
