Meet the Morning of Saturday February 7th

Hi Lower Mainlanders,

I have to make another trip down to the coast next weekend and was wondering if any one wanted to get together for breakfast somewhere near BC Place or in New West. Since I have no idea what is around some one suggest a place and I'll suggest 9:00 am.

Re: Florida Registered L300 on Ebay

Impalator, I drive a gasser (a happy convert), so Konadog knows I was just poking fun at the oil burners. All you said about the gas is true, lighter, faster, more power, similar economy. Golf Cart, Ebay wouldn't accept a 10 digit VIN so it gets advertised as a 1980 when it is 1993. Everyone else in...

Florida Registered L300 on Ebay

Just noticed this on EBay for our American friends. It says it has a clean Florida title, plus a bonus its petrol. http://cgi.ebay.ca/Mitsubishi_W0QQitemZ280306430644QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Cars_Trucks?hash=item280306430644&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1215|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1...

Re: First Impressions of A Delica P24 (Petrol That Is)

A diesel may be more durable when properly maintained, but I do not believe they are cheaper to run. Gas motors can be rebuilt for less than the cost of the IP pump repair. Gas is around 20 cents a litre cheaper, fuel economy is exactly the same as the diesel (1600 km in -20 or colder, in and out of...

Re: First Impressions of A Delica P24 (Petrol That Is)

Twisted, There was a gas Deli listed on this site a while back, Glen at CCAutos knows of it, try contacting him. I special ordered mine through one of the importers in Vancouver. I just rolled into Edmonton last night and am here till Wednesday. The van ran great in the cold, except my antifreeze is...

Re: Are Delica's Crap?

As with any vehicle manufactured there are lemons and roses. Some of these van seem to be lemons, perhaps due to maintenance regimes of previous owners and unknown histories. My first Delica was a diesel which I owned for almost two years and put 60,000 km on. Only issues were the alternator and glo...

Re: First Impressions of A Delica P24 (Petrol That Is)

Hi Wayne, The river finally froze this last weekend. The fishing was good all the way to the ice up. It seems once all the alien fishers left and the river had a recovery period the steelies got hungry again. Sounds like your adventures on the way home were nothing you were unprepared for. I'm glad ...

Coffee Powered Delica????

An interesting link:

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/12/16/science/16objava.html

Combine a bit of coffee fuel with some WVO and the aroma should be like breakfast - hash browns and coffee - mmmmm...

Re: First Impressions of A Delica P24 (Petrol That Is)

I finally changed the thermostat and put on winter tires, does that count as mods?

Seriously, I will be doing most of the work over the remainder of the winter. Just wanted to keep changes to a minimum til I get back from Christmas. Then it can be on jackstands for a few weeks.

Re: Guinness World Record with Delica October 1st Mile Zero

Quadzilla, I agree that we do tend to forget about water in our planning. I have definitely noticed the impact of the pine beetle and logging on the water cycle in the forest. In the stands most heavily affected (ie grey and red) the water in the soils is very close to the surface. With no trees tak...

Re: Guinness World Record with Delica October 1st Mile Zero

Well, if everyone is amenable, then lets carry on this conversation. With respect to clearcuts. They do have a place in certain forest types in the province. As Sean said, the forests of the interior are remnants of past fire history. By clearcutting in these forests, we have the best opportunity to...

Re: Guinness World Record with Delica October 1st Mile Zero

Lots of information on the web, a simple search will provide hours of reading. Try starting here : http://www.corrim.org/ and here http://carbon.cfs.nrcan.gc.ca/index_e.html And yes, there are cob, straw, rammed earth, tire, bottle and all kinds of other building material, but what would be the effe...

Marameisto: That was me that let his Deli rest on its side...still kicking myself. But her heart still beats strong in D and L's van in Smithers. Adam: Up here in Houston, all the WVO is collected by one fellow who runs 3 or 4 Dodges on it. I had started the conversion on the other van but never fin...

First Impressions of A Delica P24 (Petrol That Is)

First, sorry to those I wanted to contact (Falco, Lazy Fox) while in Vancouver, unfortunately time, traffic, and an overwhelming desire to get the hell out of the city prevented me from calling. Well, I now have put 1300 km on the new Delica, and I must say that I would never drive a diesel one agai...
