Re: Delica Wholesale

If you buy and ship in US dollars, yours costs are set in US dollars the the Canadian rate changes will vary the price here. I actually didn't go to the site because I'm not in the buying mood.

Re: Delica Wholesale

Since when did the inquisition against other dealers start on this sate. This is one of our nastiest threads yet and the guy just posted his website. If you don't like his pricing or website go use some one else. I saw nothing in the original post to elicit such a public assault. Just my nickel, James

What did they do for $400 bucks, I hope the rewound it in gold. Just doing bearings and the regulator cost me $125 with $75 being parts.

Re: How does the extra auto fuel tank work?

Ran it dry going up Sheep Creek Hill - great longboarding hill - died 500 meters from the crest. A kind soul lent me a ride and a can. Put 10 liters (measured at pump) from jerry can, 64 at the pump.

Re: Delica restyling. Russian version.

Jeez, and I was just trying to think of a suitable donor chassis and the Russian's beat me to it. Maybe a duece and a half chassis would work, instead of 20 mpg I'd get 20 gpm.

Re: Should I buy it?

It is a hell of a lot of work to strip down a Delica, even with crude measures not preserving all parts. If you have buyers for the parts ahead of time, it may be worthwhile, or if you want the parts yourself, otherwise leave it to the pros (tell Glenn and collect a commission :-D ) So expect 30 to ...

Re: Squealing Fan Belt

The pump on the back of the alternator is a vacuum pump that is just well lubricated. If the belts break, your brakes get very difficult to depress and it runs a little worse, but you will still be pumping oil. By necessity the oil pump is generally direct driven and well protected from failure. James

Re: Meet the Morning of Saturday February 7th

It was great to meet a bunch of Delica owners. I enjoyed the meet so much, that breakfast ended at 3 pm and I missed the entire boat show (Thanks for the pass Tardisdeli). It is interesting to put faces to the names on the site. Many people are not quite what we imagine them to be like based on the ...

Re: electrical problems

The voltage regulator is built into the alternator and that is what goes on the alternator. It is a common part ($75 ish) and can be done oneself, but not unless your willing to screw it up once when learning. Sometimes, it may continue to blow regulators then something inside is wrong. That is why ...

Re: Engine Tapping

Check your exhaust manifold gasket. Mine was ticking for a long time and I traced it to the rear cylinder exhaust gasket having a hole. It eventually gets louder as the gasket breaks down.

Re: Meet the Morning of Saturday February 7th

Location is completely flexible for me. I am going to the boat show, hence BC Place, and getting the Chewy treatment in New West and just trying to keep my driving there to a minimum.

I'll love a good quality breakfast though and will travel for food!!!!
