Re: Weird noise and oil drip...o my!
Well I know you all never lost any sleep over it  but what Diver said was the case- due to the harmonic balancer having rubbed the timing cover, it made a hole in it. I couldn't see where from my own pictures and I really didn't want to take everything apart again so I took more of that silico...

Re: Weird noise and oil drip...o my!
I promise that at some point I will figure how to post pics- just been too busy! Well I must say that if a person doesn't hurry this job (and ask questions before they start taking things apart! ) its not too bad! I installed the new seal but when I tried to tap it in place, I wound up seati...

Re: Weird noise and oil drip...o my!
There is some sort of spacer or dust cover behind the old seal, do I keep this?

Re: Weird noise and oil drip...o my!
I got it off! You know the saying, "If all else fails use a bigger..." well in my case it was a 4 foot snipe pipe! I'll try and post a pic of the wrench I borrowed from Canadian Tire- will be great for reattaching new pulley too! Once I took the nut off, the whole thing just slid right off...

Re: Weird noise and oil drip...o my!
Thank you big bird and others for your pearls of wisdom...its like you've done this procedure before....! :-D I have the silicon as suggested and a wrench from Canadian Tire that I hope will hold the pulley- I had tried a air ratchet and it blew up(the ratchet thankfully!) I tried using a prybar on ...

Re: Weird noise and oil drip...o my!
Darn! I'm basically at the front bracket now! I was wondering on those extra lines, how to move them etc! It must be a real pain to do it from underneath but I'll giver it a go before going further. I guess I should've asked my questions sooner! How much torque should I put on crank bolt?? Thanks ag...

Re: Weird noise and oil drip...o my!
Thank you for your replies, jamieboycowtown I believe you are correct. I took it to a Philipino mechanic guy who was familiar with these back home. He looked at it and said he was 110% sure it was my crankcase seal. I couldn't entice him to do the work but he said he would help me if needed. I order...

Weird noise and oil drip...o my!
Hey all, as you all have done- I have spent hours reading posts hoping that one will carry the golden nugget I am looking for! I have developed two things that concern me very much- a louder engine rattle- kinda 'sharper' rattle that comes and goes with varying degrees of throttle. With that comes a...

Re: New member in Hinton Alberta
Thanks to all for your help! Much appreciated! I sure get a lot of looks from people around town, some don't know why the heck I went with a RHD but after I'm done telling them all the cool features, I can tell wheels are turning.... :-D I ended up installing one of those oilpan pad-type heaters but...

Hello everyone...I am the proud new owner of a 1996 L400 Space Gear. So far I've replaced the alternator belts and painted the step tubes and rear bumper. If anyone has recommendations on where to get aftermarket stuff, I would appreciate it! Ladder, roof rack, etc. As well for those 'big jobs' can ...
