Well the wires are now broken off the reverse switch so I put it back in and will order new reverse switch. The wiring harness seems clean all the way through so I don't know where that short is. So we have to figure out another time

But wait! I tested for continuity again and there is continuity between the blue red wire and ground with and without the lapse connected so therefore I have to find the ground a short between the bullet connecters and the rear lamps

I took out the switch. the wires are sketchy as ^&%$#@. They're about to break off.

Tested continuity between red and blue wire and ground and there's no continuity. If I'm using a multimeter right. It's set on a little symbol that looks like a Wi-Fi symbol. The terminals are in the appropriate holes. Not getting any beeps.

If I'm using the multimeter right there's no continuity between the contacts on the switch. I guess that means the switch is faulty. Gonna get out and try to clean it up

Update: fuse blows when I put the manual transmission in reverse.
Blows with lamps unplugged. Lamps are LED by the way

I'm sort of of the mind that since it's working with a 25a fuse to just leave it alone. I've already spent a lot of time on this and might move on. Unless y'all are really itching for resolution? Swapped all the parts one at a time. No change

Ok. Got it. Also got a instrument cluster, combination switch, and all the fusible link stuff off a parts van.

Thanks so much for the attention and detailed help! I guess I should remove each fusible link and put a wire between them to test then, eh?
