Possible water pump failure

Hi all! It's been a long time since I have had the time to visit :? It seems that my water pump in my L400 may have stopped working. Van suddenly started running hot and I thought perhaps the thermostat had stopped working. I have done the usual thermostat test and found it to function properly and ...

Re: Need help diagnosing bad vibration

Okay... so I finally have a bit of time to report back on the problem I had... Replaced the rear rotors, calipers and pads last Monday and the problem is now gone! The driver's side was seized hard and I had to hammer the caliper off the rotor just to remove it! The job is very easy to do at home - ...

Re: Delica spring fever - custom roof racks

Just to answer Volnoir's questions... I have a larger Aiba Works rack on my CrystalLite and don't find that any significant amount of light is blocked by the rack. There have been days where I have still had to close the blinds to keep the van cooler inside. A rack that wouldn't cover the roof windo...

Re: Need help diagnosing bad vibration

RickJ... when you did your rear brakes did you have the rotors turned or replaced? The heat from a seized caliper is enough to warp the brake rotor so they must be turned or replaced so they spin true again. Just replacing the calipers will only fix part of the problem and you will likely still feel...

Re: Need help diagnosing bad vibration

Thanks for the replies! I think I may have found the problem... seems like it might be the passenger rear brake has seized or partly seized. The wheel hub was definitely warmer than the other three after a drive and a bit of a burning brake smell as well. Will have to have a closer look. The vibrati...

Need help diagnosing bad vibration

Hey all, My van has recently acquired a bad vibration/banging thing when driving. Basically, when I am driving I get a regular clunking sound but when I ease off the throttle the clunking and vibration gets worse - even at speed - and the van sort of jerks along as if it has a warped brake disc. Whe...

Re: I replaced my rad but is my thermostat working?!!!

If you want to test your thermostat so you are 100% sure it is working (or not), remove it from the vehicle and put it in a pot of hot water so you are able to see the part that opens. You should see the thermostat open once the water is hot enough. If it does not open and the water has reached the ...

I really like what you have got going here! The Westy stuff looks like it fits nicely and I'm not adverse to the faux wood grain. The RTT is cool too!

Re: Not Delica related, anyone in the residential window bus

Word of caution... if you employ a framer to install windows, make sure you ask about their experience with window replacement. The building envelope is of such great importance here in BC that you don't want to risk water ingress in order to save a few bucks. Just be sure they know what they are do...

Re: L400 windshield wiper adapters..solved!

It sounds like Feds did the same as I did. Took off the old wipers and used my dremel to grind out the rivets on the original wipers and reattached the hingle brackets to the arms then just used stainless bolts with nyloc nuts to attach new wipers. This mod keeps the wipers in the center position in...
