I imported this gorgeous solid black L400 last month and have been working on it/driving it since.

It's a very unique Spacegear and it has a lot of modifications and mechanical work done to it.

It's a 1994 PD8W low roof (dual sunroof) with 147,000 km's on it.

Seats 8 people.

Has a center bench (2 passenger) with a 3rd passenger fold-away seat.

The center bench rests of rails, on a pod that swivels 360 degrees, allowing a lot of seating configurations.

This is by far my favorite for seating/storage. It is more versatile than the two single captain's chairs as it allows you to have 5 adults + 5 full sized bicycles + gear.

-2.8L 4M40 turbo diesel (tuned ip/turbo)
-Automatic transmission
-SuperSelect 4WD system (2WD/AWD/4WD)

-Very rare solid black colour with flares

-Flares and batman style headlight covers have been sanded down and painted satin black to match

-Side marker lights (clear - euro style)
-Rear marker/driving lights (clear - euro style)
-Mitsubishi windshield/rock deflector
-Rear spoiler w/3rd brake light

-HID high intensity headlights (ballast / system) VERY BRIGHT ! white/blue beam

-LED audi-style daytime running lights
-E-code headlights / side reflectors
-PIAA spot fog lights

- Curtains, sliders
- Custom rear drawer system (bolt on/off for easy removal)

- 3" suspension lift :
- Rear : full length HD coil springs with heavy duty panhard bar and extended brakes lines/differential breather
- Front : 1.5" balljoint spacers/ low profile upper bump stops / uprated Heavy Duty Torsion bars (aftermarket)

- New procomp 9000 series longer shocks front/rear
- Brand new 31x10.5x15 Goodyear Territory (similar to Duratrac's) tested them last week in the snow... thumbs up.

- 2.5" stainless w/ plated black tail pipe (throaty deep sound) exhaust system
- high performance K&N cone air filter (I also have stock air filter if you want quieter sound)
- 15" polished JDM alloy rims
- Aiba works wooden steering wheel
- Mini air horn

Engine (all new) :

- Radiator, waterpump, thermostat, hoses, belts, coolant expansion bottle
- Injection pump main seal
- Injectors rebuilt
- 15w40 oil replaced / filter
- Fuel filter replaced
- Front/rear differential gear oil flushed/replaced
- Transfer case oil flush/replaced
- Transmission oil/filter replaced
- Front wheel bearings replaced and hubs repacked/adjusted
- Front brakes (rotors / pads / Eclipse Calipers) all new
- Rear brakes pads
- Front lower control arm bushings (front/rear - left/right) all replaced with OEM Mitsubishi
- Front lower balljoints
- Inner/outer tie rods/boots left/right all replaced
- Left/right sway bar links replaced

- New block heater for those chilly evenings

- Turbo timer (selectable on/off/minute increments)
- Electronic immobilizer (will lower your insurance rates)

The one single flaw I have come across in the past few weeks is with the front sunroof. It binds when opening/closing. This is a known issue as the front sunroofs mechanism is considered to be poorly designed.

The large rear moonroof open/closes, extends to allow a completely open roofline.

It is fast, howls nicely and is the most unique L400 I've had/seen.   Out of all the L300/L400's I've had, this one takes the winning spot for uniqueness and attention. I live in Kitsilano where Ferrari's and exotic vehicles are dotted along these streets. This L400 attracts everyone's attention.

I have a lot of work invested in this L400 Spacegear and would like to see it go to a good owner/family who will appreciate it.

It is very clean and I don't smoke. It needs nothing for the exception of a new owner and an oil change in 3,000 km's or if going to a colder climate than the lower mainland, I would recommend 5W40 synthetic.

Youtube clips of the exterior / interior and engine (running).

Please ignore the shaking.. it was taken with my iphone. :-D

Once you click on play, click on 360p and select 480p. The quality will be better when viewing.

Sweet wheels! Good thing my keyboard is spill-proof because it got all drools over on it.

Good luck with sale, and the new owner will be the luckiest one.

How much was this Delica originally listed for? Just curious since the price was removed before I saw it.

When painted all-black, it definitely disqualifies the epithet of "soccer mom van". Very cool! I might have even bought it if I was in the market for a new ride.
