Well....
I bough the 3/4 plywood for the delica sleeping platform and my hatches arrived last week - so I got at it. I started by removing the curtians and curtian rods (Yes Vanessa you can have them for helping me by test driving it for me) and I removed the back seat and the back seat belts. I want a very clean looking inside. I also installed a 6 plug power bar that gets its power from the enternal plug in that Jay install when I picked up the delica.
I'll post the complete how to guide once do but wanted to post a few teaser pics.
rear sealt belt has been removed
front curtain rod removed
rear curtains removed
the start of my sleeping platform - the hatches will allow access to the gear without having to access it my the rear door of the delica

Re: Sleeping platform teaser
I am looking forward to seeing the rest of the project. I am curious why you removed the curtains for a sleeping area? Did you cover the plywood with carpet? The hatches look very professional.

Re: Sleeping platform teaser
The curtains are going to be replaced with a removeable insulated window treatment so when I am sleeping I can stay warmer or cooler depending on the season. the natural light will come from my crystal light roof.
Yes that is indoor/outdoor carpet. I am really pleased with the hatches they are 30"x 12" and they were only 42.00 each. I was just out working on the rest of the platform and it is coming along quite nicely.

What are your plans for the curtains? Is it going to be curtains for them (sorry, had to!).
I am looking for curtains for my '91 or at least the runners.
Please PM or email me if they are available.

With our sleeping platform, we found that most of the access was done from the side door.the start of my sleeping platform - the hatches will allow access to the gear without having to access it my the rear door of the delica
I like the hatches.

Hi Shaun Van Ramen
the curtians have already been spoken for - my friend from Rossland BC is getting them she helped me with getting this delica so I am a little in her debt.

You can get similar runners at HomeDepot. Search the forum, some people here used them already.Shaun Van Ramen wrote:I am looking for curtains for my '91 or at least the runners

They don't seem to be stocking them anymore, I tried a few places. I tried Home Hardware and they had some. Same Levalor brand sliders.
