Assuming you checked your alternator already ?

Sounds more like a draw on the battery rather than an alternator. Any aftermarket accessories installed ?? An alternator would normally result in battery going flat fairly quickly (1 day) whereas a steady draw would pull it down over several days.
Do you drive it day to day and it still goes falt or is it parked for 3-4 days when it goes flat ?

Ummm... what's this got to do with "On The Web"?

What kind of vehicle are you driving and I'll move this thread into the appropriate forum.

Falco.

Hi Kaiju,
we used to have the same problem, and the reason was a draw on the battery.
An easy way to find out is to just disconnect the battery next time you park your vehicle. And of course connect it again when driving it again. Ours also needed to be jumpstarted every 3-4 days. When we left the van over the holidays we disconnected the battery and even though it was three weeks later, it started without any hesitation.
Though we didn't find the source of the draw yet (didn't look yet), it's at least a way to find out. However, it's more the quick and dirty and not the "professional" way of finding out ;-)

Right, I have moved the post to "L-300 Technical". Strangely, I didn't see the vehicle in the margin.

make sure all your interior lights are off. if unsure, pull all dome light bulbs.
if problem doesn't resolve you should check all your extra accessories, like stereo, cb, etc. unplug them all.

if it still persists, i'd pick up a battery tester at Princess auto and test your battery and charging system.

i suspect that either your alternator brushes are at the end of their life, or your battery is hooped.

only other thing i can think of is you might have a faulty ground somewhere.

Come to the Delica meet tonight at IKEA Coquitlam, Friday 22 January from 6 to 8pm. Is beside the Braid Street Freeway Exit. We can test stuff then. Christine.

I would recommend cleaning your battery terminals and connections as well. Parasitic voltage drops can result from dirty terminals and given the small size of the battery box and how many wires are crammed in there, it's all too probable for one to be touching another and touching the chassis somewhere it shouldn't.

Also, if you've got door locks, that comes right off the battery, as does a line to your stereo and clock (to remember your preset stations and the time). Have you changed the stereo recently?
