Tyee Imports...Campbell River

Post by DelicaFreaka »

Anyone have any dealings with this company? They seem to have quite the inventory. Although it is mostly cars, I see they have a couple of L400's as well as a few Landcruisers.......................Kirk out.

As you can clearly see from their website (they dont try to hide it)... they specialize in importing "R" condition (accident repaired)......3.0 condition (diamonds in the rough).... and high milage vehicles from Japan.

I wouldn't write them off entirely - but you need to educate yourself in advance (as you appear to be doing) so you know what to expect from the dealer in question.

I am not sure of the validity of the "R" condition assertion provided by wetcoast - their website hardly alludes to that. Finally, my Delica had a respectable 111,000 km on it when I bought it, which should not be misconstrued as a high mileage vehicle.

like quadzilla said, they aren't by any means a "bad" importer. They simply aren't a full service importer, and thereby need to be approached like a normal used car lot. In my opinion they are very straightforward about the condition of the vehicles and have a sort of take it or leave it attitude about it. Take this with a grain of salt, but the Canadian JDM market seems to be a "you get what you pay for" scenario if you do your research so you don't get snowed.

Tyee's prices reflect their lack of upgrades - they TELL YOU to take you're new ride to ccautos for the refit... Not crooked at all - honest and upfront.

Im from Campbell River..

I knew Grant (Tyee Imports Owner) back in the day.. before he was importing from japan..
He was importing Eclipses from the US.. I have never been impressed with the car's he brings in..

but like everyone says you get what you pay for.. and he is the biggest JDM importer around..

If it wasnt for him i wouldnt have started importing myself.. I wanted a car but i wasnt impressed with his product..

anyways..

There was a ton of L400 at the dock on monday.. so they are just flooding in..
Its all about the Right Way:
