I just got the van two weeks ago and well worth the wait. I've been planning for this van for a while - efficient, spacious and can convert to run off the WVO.

The Delica kicks my ol' gas guzzlin Westfalia's butt!

I want to start on the conversion pronto and have been doing some research and reading off this site, although I haven't totally mapped out what I'm going to do. Certainly the extra tank in the spare tire space and putting in heat for the lines (just not sure how yet), but if any of you want to drop me a line and give me some startoff advice - who best to buy the basic conversion gear from, well, that would be great!

if anyone from edmonton reads this - do you know of anyone who will do an inspection cheap? insepct was already done twice in bc. (ab just passed a law that requires any right side drive vehicles to have the ab inspect)[/img]

Thank you for the kind words and Congarts on the new Deli. You know it's mandatory around here to post at least one picture of your new ride, maybe beside the westie.

Your on the right track, the first step is research, then mapping out your system and deciding how you are going to use it. I choose mine for short trips in a temperate climate. In Edmonton a heated tank (coolant/120 pad heater), heated WVO tank pickup, insulated WVO lines, and if you install a large capacity filter a 120v heat system along with a inline 12 heater would be a must. I recommend the 120 heaters cause I believe that a inline heater, like a vegtherm or glow plug, will use all the extra amps your Deli's alternator can produce. If your a tidy person and don't spill 'much', then a inside WVO would be a good idea for a Edmonton winter. Bet you could find a low profile plastic tank that fit in the area under the back seat, and all you may loose is less then a foot a cargo space in the back door.

Call a company like Plantdrive and ask them for advice, being Canadian they should have some idea's.

Thanks for the advice! I'm definitely leery about the winter and WVO, but if it's an option, I'll probably go for it.

Unfortunately my old westie bit the dust on the port mcneill - campbell river highway when a guy ran a stop sign into me in 2001.

nice looking van, though I have to question the headlights... proper replacement headlights are available, and would look much better...
