I need to relace the tires on my Delica. It presently wears size 30x9.5 r15?? I noticed that this is larger than the stock tires. I also saw the treads here of people putting on some real big tires. Is this an advantage? I was thinking of going back to stock size which I think is 215 75r15? I don't really do any crazy off road just rough logging roads once in a while to get to a remote beach or acces some skiing, so it needs to be good in the snow. Doesn't the bigger size tire bugger your speedometer anyway?any advice? pls and thank you.

I wouldn't personally go down to the original tire sizing... stick with your 30's... its a good size, and brings down your rpm slightly. They also are small enough that they do not affect anything mechanically. and they also help give you a tiny bit more ground clearance. Why were you thinking of downsizing? I have been running 30's all winter and they are incredible. But I myself am stepping up to 31's as soon as my new rims show up!

I would stick to your 30's even look at 33's IF you can turn your tires with our rubbing your wheel wells. yes the taller tire will make you go faster than your speedo says, but you can just buy the little gear to go in to the trans where to spedo cable goes into . its cheap and about a 10 min job including the crawling under your van, if you want to go skiing and such I would get the bfg- all terrains, thats what I run , they are quiet, great in snow,mud,highway, evrything, and if you go in deep snow , the only true height you will ever gain is from the center of your tire down, so suspension lifts only allow you to put on taller tires, they dont make your ride taller. so a taller tire will help you in the deep snow and muck, your speedo will only be out by a few km/hr with a slighty taller tire

What is the gear ratio? I don't think these units would turn 33s very well even w/o concerns of rubbing. Seems to me at best some 31s with a body lift are about as far as you want to take things w/o changing out the diffs.

PS unless there is a definate need to put more space between your axles and the ground, i would agree a good set 30" +- ATs will serve you well w/o too soft and meaty tread.

You have to think about how much time you actually spend off pavement.

33's would never fit without a serious lift mod anyhow... 31's are about the biggest you can cram in, and even then you usually need to do some light modification. The 30's will fit every time.

Tire size calculator (http://www.powerdog.com/tiresize.cgi) says 235/75R15 are 28.9" inches. I'm running 235/75R15 BFG Mud-Terrains. Surprisingly quiet (relatively). Not noticably noisier than the All-Terrains I ran on my F150 and they don't pick up as many rocks (I was constantly digging rocks out of the All-Terrains). Don't know about longevity though.

Oh yeah, and they look great.

Do you know where to get this gear and what gear (how many teeth) are standard on a l300?
