Another Victoria Delica

Hi all,

I picked up my '91 Exceed from Five Star yesterday. Great service from Jack and his son Jacob and Glenn from CCA gave it a thorough stem to stern maintenance/repair/adjust. We actually met Jack in his hometown of Ladysmith - he was good enough to meet me there which shortened the distance.

My daughter and I took the train up, so it was a fun little adventure on its own. She is a well aware of my recent Delica obsession, and is herself a convert to the cause, so you can imagine her surprise when we arrived at our destination and I announced the real intention of the train trip.

It's a good ride. It seems clean and solid inside and out. There are some broken interior bits and pieces of course and a gaping hole which a new stereo will soon fill, but nothing a large hammer won't fix ;)

Anyway, more later I'm sure. See some pix:

When I registering the vehicle the woman presented me with plate beginning in 666 ... She said I could accept another set and told me she couldn't get rid of the plates as nobody would take them with the sign of the devil attached ;).

How could I resist? I took them.

thanks. It wasn't quite as fulfilling as instant gratification as I looked into these for a while and made a few exploratory excursions. And while I didn't have the waiting time you'll have waiting for boat to arrive, I did have to wait a week in between deposit and delivery, which was excruciating enough ...especially when there was some concern the new VIN was going to be delayed. But the wait makes the reward that much more satisfying, eh?!

On that note Jack tells me that the motor vehilce branch may begin to register these and other imports using their original VIN which will speed up proceessing.

But where are the pictures of the exhaust ??? The best part of the van missed from the pictures . That van just sounds nice and has one of the best exhaust systems I`ve ever seen on a Delica .

Nice van, not many vehicles can pull off a wooden steering wheel so well. I want one (and by Glen's comment I'd want the same exhaust too).

Cheers

Hey thanks all. my apologies for not coming back to this post for some time. Yes, the stainless exhaust is nice indeed and what a lucky break for me. I recall pricing these out a few years ago for my early bronco and they were a pretty penny. It's got a nice large chrome exhaust tip which finishes it out very nicely and goes well with the rims and the white paint. I've been driving it for a couple of weeks now and quite happy. I've got most of the odds and ends cleaned, fixed, adjusted and so forth, plus stereo installed. One overhead blind to repair, but not in a hurry to dig into that one. Still determined to do something more with the seatbelts, otherwise she's good to go!
