In the (most likely) event my head is cracked, anyone have a lead on a new one? For a 4D56T (out of 92 pajero)

i have been there and it turned out my head was not cracked. I had it pressure tested and even water tested as the fuel sleeve can sometimes no show up on a regular test. But it was all okay and had it machined, but that cost $500 alone, which you might need to do if you buy another anyways.
if it is though $500 is not a bad price but shipping can double that I imagine. I got a couple quotes from different people. I believe Glenn from Coombs Country Auto quoted me about a $1000 last year, but this will obviously depend on if he has on readily at hand. Also Marty is a good contact for this part, you can do a quick search for his contact details on here.
PM me if you have any questions.
peace

I have new aftermarket heads in stock. There are heads with just valves guides and head with complete valve trains.

I guess no one has told you, diesels run cooler when they are lean and hotter when they are rich, the opposite of a gasser. So, if you want to be safe, run less fuel. Of course you could just get a pyrometer and actually see your egt in order to avoid such an issue.

A larger exhaust, a front mount intercooler, a bigger turbo, TURNING DOWN your fuel and getting a new "diesel" mechanic are all the physical changes you can do to reduce your EGTs. The best thing though, is to lift your right foot when they get high.

Glad you got it sorted, interesting to know how cheap it was to get another from UK. How long did it take to arrive?
You might want to get Butch and Edwin at CVI in Richmond to look at it, and set it up properly (you can watch them do the tests so you know exactly what is going on).

If anyone wants my source for a new head, pm me.
like with the injectors I'm curious why not just post the info up for everyone?
